How does Miradry work?

How does Miradry work?

You may have already heard about Miradry, so you’re familiar with the fact that it is the only FDA-approved non-surgical device to treat excessive underarm sweat, also known as hyperhidrosis.

While there are a number of treatment options for excess sweating ranging from special deodorants you can wear to Botox injections, Miradry is the only permanent solution other than a surgical procedure.

How does Miradry work?

MiraDry works by delivering precisely controlled electromagnetic energy to the underarm area, heating and subsequently eliminating the underarm sweat glands and smell. In just 1 short treatment, you can have significant improvement. The miraDry system eliminates the underarm sweat glands, and the sweat glands don’t grow back after treatment. This results in a dramatic and lasting reduction of underarm sweat. In a clinical study, patients experienced an average of 82% reduction in underarm sweat. You should notice a reduction in sweat immediately after your first treatment, and can expect to be tender and swollen for about a week post procedure.

While there is some downtime associated with the procedure as far as swelling and tender to the touch, it is an in-office and relatively simple procedure with a lasting result. There have been recent upgrades to the system to allow for more precise and less intrusive numbing options, making the procedure itself faster and much more comfortable for the patient.

If you think you may be a candidate, contact our office today and we would be happy to setup a consultation to discuss the procedure in more detail. 910-256-4350
