Think you may be ready to take the step into the world of cosmetic injections with filler and Botox? WDC is here to give you the in’s and out’s on what to expect before jumping right in. Join us from 12-1 on April 30th. We will be hosting an information session on injectables in our office and will cover all of the different brands of injectables and advanced Botox and filler techniques. Light refreshments will be served and seating is limited to 15 people. We will offer special savings on these treatments for those who attend the event. Here’s a little bit of what you need to know about Botox and fillers.
First off…what do fillers and Botox do? Botox is a type of injectable that improves the looks of aging by minimizing wrinkles and lines. It works by blocking nerve impulses to the injected muscles. This reduces muscle activity that causes moderate to severe lines to form between the brows. Fillers also minimize lines and wrinkles by plumping up the area being treated, kind of like Spackle. Filler is used more to create volume and soften already established wrinkles in the face, while Botox is more specific to wrinkles created by movement.
Where are they used? Botox is mainly used in the upper face for treatment of the frown line, forehead and crows feet. While these are the typical treatment locations, Dr. Roz had a number of advanced techniques she uses as well, to provide you with the best results for overall facial rejuvenation. Fillers are used in the cheek area, the “smile lines”, lip wrinkles, marionette lines, temples, and numerous other places to soften already established wrinkles that have formed in the face, as well as, creating volume in the areas that need a little plumping.
Does the procedure hurt? While both Botox and fillers are injections, we do everything we can to ensure that you are as comfortable as possible during the procedures. For Botox we use a tiny needle that most tolerate well, since it is short and quick procedure to undergo. For the filler appointments, a topical lidocaine cream is put on your face where the injections will take place, making the procedure more comfortable. You may experience some pressure and soreness in the treatment areas, but normal activity and use of makeup is fine after the procedure.
What if I don’t like it? While typically this is not the case, most filler are easily dissolved with a simple injection under the skin. While this isn’t true for all fillers, if you have any hesitation, be sure to request a dissolvable option from your provider. Filler also wear off in time, as does Botox, so if there is anything you aren’t satisfied with, we can always make adjustments. WDC is focused on results and we want you to be happy with what you see in the mirror when you leave.
