Dr. Rosalyn George

Dr. Rosalyn George has expert experience and knowledge in all of the major areas of dermatology and is committed to providing her patients with superior care for all of their skin care needs. Dr. George is Board Certified by the American Board of Dermatology and is a Fellow of the American Academy of Dermatology.

Dr. George completed her internship in Internal Medicine and her Dermatology Residency at Penn State University (Hershey Medical Center), where she served as chief resident. She received her medical degree from Virginia Commonwealth University in Richmond, VA, where she was elected to the prestigious Alpha Omega Alpha honor society. She graduated magna cum laude and Phi Beta Kappa from Virginia Tech with a major in Biochemistry.

Prior to starting her private practice “Wilmington Dermatology Center” in 2008, she completed a laser focused preceptorship with one of the nation’s leading laser treatment pioneers, Dr. Tina Alster, at the Washington Institute of Dermatologic Laser Surgery. Dr. George continues to attend and present at many state and national conferences, where the most current advances in dermatology are discussed. In 2013 Dr. George became a luminary for Solta Medical, the maker of such devices as the Fraxel Dual and Liposonix, where she presents on various treatment technologies.  In addition to being selected as an Allergan trainer for Botox and Juvederm, she was also selected from an elite group of physicians nationwide to participate on the Facial Aesthetics Board by Allergan for the Voluma launch. Dr. George also actively participates as a chief investigator for dermatology focused clinical research studies to keep abreast of the latest treatments and has contributed to several scientific publications.

Dr. George in conjunction with WDC also enjoys participating in philanthropic events and is a contributor to numerous charities in Wilmington.  In recent years she has been the primary sponsor for the Wine Women and Shoes Event in Wilmington which benefits Make-a-Wish of Eastern North Carolina.

Karin Hipp, PA-C

Karin Hipp, PA-C is a certified physician assistant who has been practicing dermatology since 2001, and joined Wilmington Dermatology Center in late 2011. After receiving her master’s degree from DeSales University, Karin was formally trained in dermatology at Johns Hopkins University. She has worked in a private practice setting, as well as academic, to gain valuable skills in all aspects of dermatology. Her most recent experience of specialized training at Duke University Medical Center has helped broaden her knowledge in the field of melanoma and pigmented lesions. Karin enjoys both cosmetic and medical dermatology, with a special interest in skin cancer and facial rejuvenation.

Melanie Adams, PA-C

Melanie Adams relocated to Wilmington from Raleigh, NC. She is a native of eastern Kentucky and completed her Physician Assistant studies at the University of Kentucky in 1995. She later received a graduate degree in PA studies at the University of Nebraska. Her previous medical experience includes Family Practice, Integrative Medicine, Neurology and Psychiatry. Prior to joining Wilmington Dermatology, she worked at Raleigh Dermatology in Raleigh, NC for five years and has experience in cosmetic dermatology, including Botox® and Juvederm® treatments, as well as clinical dermatology. Her clinical interests include skin cancer screenings and treatment of adult acne.Melanie is a member of the American Academy of Physician Assistants and the Society of Dermatology Physician Assistants. She is excited to be working with a wonderful staff at Wilmington Dermatology and is eager to get involved with the Wilmington community. Her interests include traveling, hiking, biking, tennis, cooking and spending time with her two dogs.

Kelly Britt, PA-C

Kelly Britt, PA-C was born and raised in Winston-Salem, North Carolina. She attended the Physician Assistant Program at Wake Forest University School of Medicine, and received her Masters in Medical Science in 2005. Kelly subsequently moved to Wilmington, NC to begin practice as a Dermatology Physician Assistant and has enjoyed serving this community for the past 10 years. She is devoted to providing comprehensive skincare for her patients, including General, Cosmetic, and Surgical Dermatology. She welcomes patients in both the pediatric and adult populations. Kelly is married and has one daughter. As a family, they enjoy spending time on the water and traveling.

Shelley Piatkowski, RN, Cosmetic Procedure Specialist

Shelley Piatkowski graduated from UNCW in 2005 with her Bachelor of Science in Nursing where she started as an operating room nurse with her primary experience in cosmetic surgery. She has been a cosmetic nurse for invasive and noninvasive procedures for eight years. She has extensive experience with laser and ultrasound technology from hair laser removal to Liposonix and Ultherapy. Shelley grew up in Rocky Mount, North Carolina and currently resides in Wilmington with her husband, daughter, and son. She loves being active in the outdoors from running to stand-up paddle boarding.

Donna Maccalupo,
Medical Aesthetician

Donna Maccalupo has over seven years of aesthetics experience and completed her esthetics training at CFCC. Donna has received and continues to participated in extensive training from major pharmaceutical grade product lines including SkinCeuticals and SkinMedica. She has received laser training with Solta Medical for the Clear + Brilliant procedure and has experience with LED, oxygen, and microdermabrasion devices. Donna also has a passion and expertise in the area of lash extensions and tinting and received specialized training from Xtreme Lash. Donna has comprehensive experience in all major areas of aesthetics, including: customized facials, chemical peels, dermabladding, and waxing. As a specialized aesthetician at WDC working in conjunction with the rest of our experienced team, you can be sure to receive expert advice and treatments from Donna that are customized to your unique skin care needs.

Julie Taddei,
Medical Aesthetician

Julie Taddei has over seven years of aesthetics experience and received her undergraduate degree from Appalachian state. She completed her esthetics training locally at CFCC and specializes in addressing skin conditions like acne, aging, and sun damaged skin. Julie has conducted numerous training programs from cosmetic device manufacturers such the Clear+Brilliant from Solta, and additional training on ultrasonic, LED, oxygen, and microdermabrasion devices. Julie has also participated in advanced chemical peel training and pharmaceutical grade product training from SkinMedica and SkinCeuticals. As one of WDC’s aestheticians, Julie also performs facials, waxing, dermabladding, and brow and lash tinting.

Nicole Stowe,
Medical Aesthetician

Nicole has over 16 years of aesthetic experience in dermatology and plastic surgery. She received her NC aesthetic license in 1998 and has participated in many advanced training courses over the duration of her aesthetic career.  She has extensive training in pharmaceutical grade chemical peels, laser treatments,  microneedling and microdermabrasion devices. Nicole specializes in acne treatment, skin rejuvenation as well as skin pigmentation concerns and is dedicated to customizing skin care treatment plans for each individual.  She also offers custom facials, dermablading, waxing, lash and brow tinting.
