Ultherapy: The Lunchtime Lift

Posted on:

While some lasers, like Fraxel, are a bit risky to do in the summer with the sun and heat as our biggest culprit….Ultherapy is one of our favorite summertime and anytime procedures for a number of reasons!

Also known as the lunchtime lift, Ultherapy is a non-invasive FDA-approved ultrasound device that breaks down and rebuilds your natural collagen giving you a subtle lift and contour.  One of our favorite areas to use it is on the lower face/jawline to tighten the area and create more definition.  Not only can we use it on the lower face, but it is also a great option to give a lift to upper face, neck, and treat the small lines we get on our chest over time.

Since Ultherapy uses ultrasound, not laser technology, there are really no restrictions as to what time of year it is safe to do, while some other facial rejuvenation procedures are best left for the cooler months not spent at the beach.   There is also no downtime associated with it (although if we do numb the area there is always the risk of a pinpoint bruise to consider).  Most patients leave the office a little pink, which subsides quickly over the next hour.

The full effects of the treatment and creation of new collagen takes place over the course of 90 days. Many report visual effects more rapidly. While surgery is still the Golden Standard, Ultherapy does treat the same foundational skin layer as cosmetic surgery. Ultherapy is a great option for those either not ready for or not interested in a face-lift.
